How to Use the Site

Welcome to my new Blog. What’s a Blog you might ask? Its a (we)B Log. Basically it’s an online, public, diary.

A blog allows you to publish your thoughts, photos, and other stuff instantly on the web at any time without the need for complex Web page programming. If you have access to a Web browser, you can add to your site from anywhere.

You’ll notice that I’ve integrated my Blog into the pozadzides.com domain, but you can get your own blog without all that messy expense and trouble by using a public site such as http://blogger.com or http://wordpress.com.

There are also a few other interesting features which I’d like to point out in order to make your visit here a more enjoyable experience:

  • There is a Contact form, which you’ll see a link to on the right side of the page, so that you can send e-mail to John right from the web site whenever you please.
  • You can post comments in response to any of my posts right on the site. All you need to do is register first, and you’ll find a link to do that on the right side of the page.
  • If you look below the Contact form link, you’ll see a “Subscribe Now” link. This allows you to quickly sign up for all e-mail notifications when I add items to my blog. However, if you create a login for this site, you can choose which types of items you’d like to be notified about (and add your comments to any of my posts). For example, if you are only interested in knowing when I post new art, we can do that! Or just new knives, we can do that too. Heck, we can even do both!
  • Occasionally I may post an audio file. That’s right, I might just decide to read a poem, bust a rhyme, or rant about something useless. If I do, you’ll see a small PLAY icon by the audio file and if you click on it you can listen to the file right from the web page.
  • Sometimes you’ll also see thumbnail images. Virtually every image will link to a larger version of it’s self. Even big images will sometimes link to still bigger ones, so you can always try clicking on one to get more detail.
  • If you ever want to go back and see previous posts, which have cycled off of the main Blog screen, you can navigate to them by using the Previous Posts links (organized by month / year), or the Category links, over on the right side of the page.

Well, that’s about it. If there is something you’d like to see me add to or change on the site just drop me a line.

Have fun,

John P.
