Shooting Stars Wall Sculpture

One of my latest pieces, currently on display at [1] Frisco Square, is the first in a series of themed wall sculptures I am building. The photos I’m putting up currently aren’t that great, but I didn’t get to take proper pictures before the piece went on public display.

This piece measures 2′x4′ and has considerable 3D effects. The rectangular black background has a 2″ deep frame around the back side to allow the piece to float just off the wall. In addition, each of the stars is mounted on different length stems floating in front of the black background. The larger stars are farther from the background, giving the effect that all of the stars are in motion with the largest ones closest and the smallest ones farther away.

The black background is powder coated with a special “hammered black” finish which gives it a shimmery textured look. This piece is already sold, but I will make a limited number of these available. There are currently two more designs in the works which will follow the multiple object shooting across a background theme… but I don’t yet want to give away what they are going to look like.
