This 12.5″ custom knife has a 6.5″ x 1.5″ hand-forged blade made from 5160 high-carbon steel. As with all of my blades, this one is differentially heat treated so that the cutting edge is very hard while the spine remains softer for safety and durability. This blade is very tough and it has passed my personal test of shaving hair, chopping through a 2″x4″, and maintaing a shaving sharp edge.

The guard is made of Nickel Silver and the handle is made of Bird’s Eye Maple which has been hand-shaped, sanded and finally buffed to a glossy finish to bring out the depth in the wood. I have filed a pattern into the spine of this blade which I like to call my “lightning” pattern.

This knife also comes with a sheath I made specifically for it which will accomodate up to a 2″ belt”.

Here is a video which demonstrates the sharpness of the blade. The knife is slicing through regular computer printer paper.
