Our Two Little Princesses

Well, if you were wondering why I slave away to pay the mortgage on this house, these two little pups are part of the reason. Lexi and Sandi are our two little girls. They were both rescued when we adopted them... Lexi was a stray that was found by John's step mom and Sandi was adopted from the humane society. They are the two sweetest dogs you will ever have occasion to meet. They each have a very distinct personality, but suffice it to say that they are both complete hams for the camera.

Lexi is the oldest at about 4 years. When we adopted her, she was about 6 months old and had apparently been wandering the streets for some time. We are not sure what all happened to her but we are sure that she was abused by some humans before she became a stray. She only weighed 30 pounds despite the fact that she appears to be 1/2 German Shepard and 1/2 Golden Retriever. She is without a doubt the smartest dog I have ever encountered and whoever originally mistreated her should honestly be euthanized. (I'll volunteer!) She is now a well adjusted, healthy and happy puppy!

Sandi has been with us for about a year now. She is about two years old and we adopted her one Sunday afternoon when we were at the Galleria mall in Dallas. Her previous owners kept her as a backyard dog only and they wanted to put in a pool so they decided they couldn't keep her and they turned her over to the SPCA. (Another family that needs a priority adjustment...) Sandi is not the brightest dog in the world, but she is the sweetest! All she wants to do is be close to people and constantly receive love and attention.

Did we mention that the girls LOVE the snow?

You always know the spoiled dog is the one that doesn't just sleep on the king sized bed... but also covers herself up!
